Confessions of a Financial Advisor

Confession:

A few years ago, the idea of jumping into the wealth management industry made me extremely nervous. And for a few good reasons.

1) I don’t look anything like most Financial Advisors I’ve seen.

2) I’m motivated by making a difference in people’s lives, not by dollars.

3) I couldn’t imagine how I could still be my authentic self in what seemed like a clean-cut, stuffy industry.

Working with money isn’t new to me. But having the official title of Financial Advisor made me question what it would look like to stay true to who I am. So this is me. A barefooted man in a suit, with a big beard, who loves people and wants to make the world a better place. And it’s working. I get to partner with so many like-hearted people who appreciate my approach to life and finances. It took me a while to find my place in this profession, but I’m learning to “love me some me”, even here.

Know this: You have the permission to be you, no matter where you are. You may have to adjust your approach, but you must remain authentic. The right people will appreciate your deep honesty. Life is too short to be anyone other than your truest and highest self.

Don’t gain the world and lose your soul.
